Editorial Disclosure
This page states how TrueNAS Hub makes money, how its articles are produced, and what does and does not affect what it publishes. It is deliberately short, because everything on it has to be true.
How this site is funded
Some articles contain Amazon affiliate links. If you buy through one, this site may earn a commission on qualifying purchases, and the price you pay is unchanged. Every article carrying such a link displays a disclosure notice on the page itself, so you never have to come here to find out.
This site carries no sponsored content, no paid placement, no display advertising and no newsletter sponsorship. No vendor pays for coverage, for a recommendation, or for the wording of one.
A product is linked when the article already recommends it for a stated technical reason. Where a product has no affiliate link, or where the sensible choice is a manufacturer's own page or a variant the reader has to pick themselves, the article links there instead. Nothing is recommended because it happens to be linkable.
How articles are produced
Articles are researched from primary sources: vendor and project documentation, published standards and specifications, release notes, advisories, and measurements published by the people who took them. Drafts are produced with AI assistance and then edited against those sources before publication.
Articles are published under the TrueNAS Hub Editorial byline. That is an editorial desk, not a named individual, and this site does not attribute its work to invented people with invented credentials. No article here claims hands-on lab testing, benchmarking, or first-hand measurement, and none should be read as a report of something this site physically tested. Where a number comes from a datasheet or someone else's measurement, the article says whose.
What influences coverage
- What readers of this topic are actually trying to find out
- Material changes to the software, hardware, or standards being covered
- Whether a primary source exists that is good enough to write from
What does not influence coverage
- Whether a vendor runs an affiliate or referral program
- What a program pays, where an affiliate link exists at all
- Whether a vendor has contacted this site
- Whether a topic is convenient for search traffic
Review samples and vendor relationships
This site does not accept review units, hardware loans, free licences, or gifts, and no article here is written from a vendor-supplied sample. It is not owned by, funded by, or operated by any of the vendors, projects, or platforms it covers.
